In a search for possible economic but thinly developed gold-bearing quartz reefs outcropping within Adelaidean bedrock in a 12 square km upland area located ~60 km north-west of Yunta and some distance west of the historic Waukaringa Goldfield, a microscopic examination of the heavy mineral concentrates obtained by panning stream sediments sampled from nearby gullies (21 x 2 kg sieved samples of the minus 3 mm sediments) failed to find any coarse free gold grains in the 1-3 mm size fraction. Therefore the prospectivity for finding visible auriferous veins at surface in the now relinquished portions of the subject licence was downgraded.
