A 25 square km portion at the southern end of the subject licence, comprising ~2.4% of the originally granted area, has been relinquished by current holder Terramin as part of the management conditions applying to the company's multi-licence exploration project under the Amalgamated Expenditure Agreement made with the SA Government in 2004. This completely Recent sediment-covered area was selected for relinquishment on the basis of having elements of the following deterrents: (1) discouraging geochemical and/or geophysical results, (2) much thickness of cover rocks and/or alluvium and the nature of its properties in relation to efficacy of geochemical and geophysical investigations of the basement beneath, and (3) hindering cultural infrastructure and agricultural factors. The only work with relevance to the now relinquished ground portion has been the geophysical modelling of its 2010 aerial EM (VTEM) survey data, done by Terramin in 2012 as part of office-based reviews of past regional exploration data. During April-May 2010, Terramin had contracted Geotech Airborne Pty Ltd to fly its industry-leading Versatile Time-Domain Electromagnetic (VTEM) geophysical system to locate conductive anomalies which could indicate the presence of massive base metal sulphide mineralisation hidden within Kanmantoo Group rocks beneath the cover. VTEM was reputably the best airborne EM system at the time, capable of detecting conductive features in basement rocks beneath conductive cover sequences. The survey combined acquisition of EM and magnetic data for a total of 3684.3 line km covering most of the Fleurieu Project tenements, including 1400 line km flown over EL 4466. A significant portion of EL 4466 was covered at 200 m flight line spacing, with areas of interest infilled to 100 m spaced flight lines. 14 flight lines totalling ~43.5 line km lie within the now relinquished area, and prospectivity assessments based on interpretation of the airborne electromagnetic and magnetic data played a part in the selection of this area.

Notes: The first partial relinquishment of the subject tenement, which occurred on 11/8/1999 at the expiry of Year 5 of EL 1981, before its renewal as EL 2677, did not generate an Envelope because no work had been done on the ~41.9% of originally held ground that was relinquished. The second partial relinquishment of the subject tenement, which occurred on 2/12/2001 at the Years 7-8 renewal of EL 2677, did not generate an Envelope because no work had been done on the ~32.2% of originally held ground that was relinquished.
