Parts of an area bordering the south-eastern Gawler Ranges, which is considered prospective for finding buried hypogene IOCG mineralisation and possible stratiform and metamorphic base metals in a peri-volcanic basement environment, have recently been relinquished. The only work done on them, which took place during November 2008 and January 2009, has been regional reconnaissance soil sampling for a range of epithermal pathfinder elements, with 101 samples collected and assayed from a 1 km x 1 km grid. All resulting base and precious metal values were generally low and did not warrant any infill sampling or other exploration.
