An area covering part of the central portion of the eastern Lake Torrens Plain is being explored for possible buried haematite-rich, iron oxide - associated copper-gold(-uranium) mineralisation or related alteration zones that may be present in the basement rocks underlying part of the Torrens Hinge Zone, as well as for vein style structurally controlled epigenetic gold in basement or Adelaidean cover rocks. Recently, 70 square km or ~25.4% of the former area of EL 4357 has been relinquished after Salisbury Resources reached the conclusion that it lay too far away from fault zones of interest for controlling possible gold emplacement. The only work that was done which is relevant to the now relinquished ground is the Parachilna Gravity Survey comprising 676 stations in total, which was read during July-August 2009 over two separate grids – Torrens and Merna Mora. The Torrens grid with a total of 408 stations read was located on the eastern shore of Lake Torrens, 15 km west of the historic town of Parachilna. 61 gravity stations in the south-western corner of the grid were located on the lake itself. The regional gravity stations were diagonally offset on a regular 1 km x 1 km spacing; some 500 m semi-detailed infill was performed after completion of the 1 km coverage. The subset of surveyed gravity data from this grid area are herewith released to open file. The Merna Mora grid was located near Merna Mora Station homestead, 45 km south of Parachilna. Here a total of 268 stations variously 500 m and 1 km apart were read along east-west lines 1 km apart, the 1 km stations being diagonally offset.
