Ground magnetic traverses carried out over prospective gold and base metal-bearing stratigraphic horizons in the vicinity of the abandoned Waukaringa Goldfield yielded several magnetic anomalies thought to correspond to massive pyritic ore in buried quartz veins. Further interpretation awaits the results of soil and stream sediment sampling for geochemical anomalies, which will be used to help define additional geophysical surveying (magnetics, IP) and drilling targets.
