Two portions of two licence sub-blocks, together totalling 35 square km or ~26.3% of the former area, have been relinquished from a long-running tenement which is centred ~40 km south of Olary. This licence was taken up by Adelaide Exploration to cover Neoproterozoic metasedimentary rocks that are bordering and are in part intruded by Ordovician plutons of the Anabama felsic intrusive igneous complex. The exploration target is possible analogues to the Blue Rose Cu-Au skarn mineralisation occurrence, which was discovered nearby by Giralia Resources early in 2002, on the northern margin of the main Anabama Granite pluton. The Blue Rose find reported drillhole intercepts included a best interval of 28 m @ 1.41% Cu and 0.33 g/t Au hosted by a thick skarn-altered dolomite, which unit had been targeted by Giralia because of its noticeable low magnetic response within the pluton's contact metamorphic aureole. Within the now relinquished licence portions, work completed has comprised the collection [?during 2013] of 1113 field portable XRF geochemical analyses of surficial materials at 25 m intervals along traverses made across magnetic anomalies identified from reduced-to-pole (RTP) TMI imagery, plus the earlier drilling, in March-April 2007, of 7 scout vertical open RAB holes for a total penetration of 369 m along one traverse located at the Great Eastern prospect in the southern relinquished sub-block. 131 drill cuttings samples were assayed, but no significant gold (>0.1 g/t Au) or copper (>3000 ppm Cu) assay values were returned. The relevant FPXRF and drillhole geochemical data are herewith released. Handheld gamma ray scintillometer total count readings were made on each 1-metre depth interval cuttings sample obtained from all of the boreholes, but no radiation readings of >550 counts were recorded. The estimated maximum uranium content in these samples was 9.6 ppm U, and the estimated maximum thorium content was 34.2 ppm Th, both values being returned from 17-18 m depth in hole ANA005.
