A preliminary evaluation of the zinc potential of the historic Ediacara lead-silver prospect and surrounds has consisted of a review of previous surface and subsurface geochemical data, and the conduct of orientation rock chip, calcrete and soil geochemical sampling plus limited 1:5000 scale geological mapping. Interpretation of the results suggests that there may be a high degree of structural control over the base metal distribution, with the highest zinc levels occurring to the north-east of the Gap Creek Fault, and it was decided that additional detailed geological mapping and soil sampling will be necessary before Perilya commits to a planned RC drilling programme.
