Petratherm contracted Quantec Geoscience Pty Ltd to record the Paralana Magneto-Telluric Survey during November - December 2007.The survey was conducted in GEL 156 and GEL 178 located some 35km north-east of Arkaroola on the western flanks of the Arrowie Basin . The purpose of the survey was to determine the depth to basement and whether there was any evidence of fluids adjacent to the Paralana Hot Springs area. A total of 84 stations were recorded, spaced 500m apart over 3 traverses. Two short traverses in the Paralana Hot Springs area had 10 and 15 sites respectively while a long traverses containing 59 sites spaced 500m apart was recorded over seismic line PA07-01. This traverse would then allow a direct comparison and correlation between data recorded by the 2 geophysical techniques. The survey was deemed an operational and technical success with excellent data recorded.
