A very small part of the central Stuart Shelf district, centred ~35 km north-northeast of Woomera, which has never been drilled, was taken up as two separate sub-blocks in order to explore there for possible buried IOCG mineralisation of Prominent Hill and Olympic Dam styles. The licence is located close to three reported historic near-surface copper occurrences, and other major as yet uneconomic IOCG mineralised prospects lie at a distance to the north and east. Possible Mesoproterozoic unconformity style uranium and Neoproterozoic metasedimentary stratabound copper were regarded as secondary objectives. During the first licence year, GB Energy performed an interpretation of available geological and geophysical information, seeking to identify significant gravity and magnetic anomalies which could be caused by haematite/magnetite breccia complexes within the upper basement. During licence Year 2, no work was done. Planned ground geophysical surveys did not eventuate before a decision was made to allow tenure to lapse.
