Section 12 of the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Regulations 2013 require any person proposing to undertake activities relevant to petroleum exploration to prepare a draft Statement of Environmental Objectives (SEO) prior to exploration commencing. An SEO must identify any event which could arise from any regulated activity under the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Act 2000 and may cause a serious or reportable incident within the meaning of the Act. This Statement of Environmental Objectives covers hydraulic fracture stimulation associated with geothermal operations in the Arrowie basin of South Australia.
