After the granting by DSD of joint reporting status for the three licences comprising FMG's Fleurieu Peninsula IOCG exploration project, the licensee commenced formal Native Title negotiations with claimant group representatives of the Kaurna People and Ngarrindjeri, in order to secure a land access agreement for the project area. Late in Year 2, a detailed ground gravity survey for the project was acquired solely on Myponga EL 5061 during October 2014, which was designed to infill existing open file gravity datasets and give better data coverage across that entire licence area. The survey was intended to advance the company's understanding of the Myponga Inlier's geology, structure and the depth of cover. 294 new stations were read at 500 m intervals along roadside transects; processing of these gravity data was still underway at the end of the 2013-2014 reporting period. Following the receipt from the survey contractor of the processed gravity data, and their modelling and interpretation during licence Year 3, FMG downgraded its perceived prospectivity for all three subject licence areas, and subsequently surrendered them.
