EL 4860 has been part of the Investigator Resources Ltd tenement holding since that company was spun-off from Southern Gold in 2007 (as Sunthe Uranium Ltd). The Eastern Eyre Peninsula project group of licences, which lie along and just beyond the southern outcrop margin of the Gawler Range Volcanics Domain, are being explored primarily for possible buried basement-hosted Olympic Dam style iron oxide - associated copper-gold(-uranium) deposits, as well as for fault-related vein style uranium deposits and roll front type uranium deposits. Within the now relinquished southern sub-block of the subject licence, a total of only 110 minus 2 mm soil samples were collected during 2009 for partial leach geochemical analysis. Execution of the planned scope of exploration was hampered by two landholders in the area who refused to negotiate reasonable terms of access to their land. Therefore further progress on this part of the soil geochemical survey was stalled indefinitely, since Investigator wished to avoid taking any resolving legal action through the Warden’s Court or ERD Court, as this step can have a negative effect on the local community relations and can become an expensive procedure. Due to the relatively low tenor soil assay results, which were fully received during 2012, providing no ongoing encouragement to do more work, the nature of the land access problems, and consequent significant underspending on tenement commitments, Investigator decided during mid-2015 to relinquish approximately 35.5 % of the tenement in the form of the entire said sub-block.
