Ground magnetic surveying undertaken just to the north of the Neuroodla railway station, on the western margin of the Flinders Ranges near Hawker, has failed to substantiate the presence of a previously recognised residual aeromagnetic anomaly. Consequently, the then-interpreted geophysical indication of a sub-outcropping, fault - associated diapiric structure, the concept now being investigated, has been concluded to be virtual, and merely the product of a transient brief instrumental error arising during the original 1965 BMR airborne magnetic survey.
