112.3 square km or 29% of the former area of EL 4938, in two separate blocks, has recently been relinquished due to a lack of encouraging results, and difficulty with land access onto certain private properties located therein due to some farmers’ resistance to mineral exploration. The subject ground was taken up originally because it had not previously been effectively explored either for gold or for IOCG type deposits. Exploration within the now relinquished portions of the licence area initially consisted of regional reconnaissance 1 km x1 km soil geochemical sampling carried out during 2008, followed in 2009 by infill soil sampling at 500 m x 500 m sample spacing, with a third round of sampling later performed over 250 m x 250 m grids on selected anomalies. The soil samples were analysed using the Intertek TL8 partial leach technique. A total of 135 samples were collected, and the assay results for these are released to open file herewith. No further field work was performed on the relinquished portions after 2009, due to company priorities being directed to other tenements and prospects within the project acreage.
