GEL 222 was granted to Geothermal Resources Pty Ltd on 20th March 2006. The main focus was an interpreted 3km deep graben filled with Adelaidean sediments underlain by potentially high heat producing granites. Frome 8 was drilled in 2007 to a depth of 500m and was located on Geoscience Australia seismic line 03GA-CU01. Subsequently GA recorded another line in 2008, 08GA-C1 intersecting the first at the location of Frome 8. Temperature logging of Frome 8 as measured was deemed to represent a normal crustal temperature gradient and as such the interpreted heat producing granite may be absent at depth. Adjacent GEL licence GEL 280 was granted later and work programs and anniversaries were aligned. These geothermal licences were held in conjunction with numerous Mineral Tenements including EL 2878, 3482 and 3442.The licence was subsequently relinquished on 13th January 2010 before the end of the 4th licence year.
