During continued uranium exploration undertaken in the Houghton area 6 miles east-northeast of Adelaide, no field work was carried out because minor radiometric anomalies detected in the 1968 Houghton aerial radiometric survey data were interpreted as either elevated background values caused by thinly layered, primary radioactive minerals deposited within shear planes, or as erroneous readings arising from misapplied topographic elevation corrections.
