GEL 352 was granted to New World Energy Solutions Pty Ltd on 25th August 2008. GEL 352 is located in the Tenappera Trough area of the Cooper basin which is thought to contain some 2000m of sediments overlying granitic rocks of the Big Lake Suite. The licence area was known as the “Strzelecki Project” and the target for this area was an Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS) utilizing heat from favourable granitic host rocks. The entire area is contained within the South Australian Heat Flow Anomaly. Hot Dry Rocks were commissioned to conduct a review of the geothermal tenements held by New World Energy Solutions Pty Ltd and while further work was recommended no further activities were undertaken and the licence expired on 24th August 2013.
