GEL 446 was granted to Geothermal Resources Pty Ltd on 25th August 2008. At the time Geothermal Resources was a subsidiary company of Havilah Resources NL. The licence was located over the Yalkalpo sub-basin of the Arrowie Basin and the initial focus was determination of depths to basement rocks and to locate possible buried granitic rocks. Further, temperature logging and calculation of geothermal gradients were to be undertaken in existing drillholes if access was possible. Modelling exercises and interpretation of adjacent seismic data suggests an area of inadequate depths to basement for geothermal energy development. The licence was surrendered on 9th April 2010 before the end of the second licence year.
