EL 4695 Giddinna, consisting of three separate small sub-blocks, was pegged as strategic acreage to provide continuity with two other pre-existing Golden Cross tenements in the Coober Pedy Group, ELs 4427/5594 Oolgelima and 4966 Stuart Range, and was explored concurrently with these licences. They all lie within, or close to, the margins of the prospective G2 continental-scale structural lineament corridor as postulated by Dr Tim O’Driscoll. Interpretation of regional geophysical datasets for this tenement Group included EL 4695, but no specific IOCG targets were identified within that licence area, and all eventual field work was undertaken over the adjoining tenements. At surrender, EL 4695 consisted of two remaining non-contiguous sub-blocks centred approximately 25 km north-east of Coober Pedy, that adjoined the three parts of EL 5594 (Oolgelima). Those sub-blocks lay partially within the Woomera Prohibited Area, besides which the area was subject land in the Antakarinja Matu Yakunytjatjara (AMY) Native Title Determination, both forming adverse land access factors influencing the recent decision to allow tenure to lapse.
