70% of the area of EL 4368, centred 15 km east of Laura in SA's Mid-North, was relinquished late in 2014. No work had been done on this ground by licensee Flinders Mines since the previous partial relinquishment that occurred at licence renewal on 1/1/2011. During 2010, under Flinders' tenure of prior EL 3242, farminee Copper Range had conducted unsuccessful exploratory RC and diamond drilling to test a gravity anomaly that it had mapped near the historic Hicks flux quarry, located 6 km north-east of Gladstone within the southern part of the now relinquished portion of EL 4368 [ data has been released previously - see Env 11249 ]. This related work had formed part of Copper Range's regional search for buried economic stratabound iron resources that might exist within metamorphosed and tightly folded Neoproterozoic and Cambrian strata.
