GEL 557 was granted to Green Rock Energy Ltd on 29th June 2010. The location of the tenement is just to the east of the Olympic Dam Mine Site and largely occupies previous tenements GEL 163 and 129 previously held by Green Rock Energy. Further this new tenement was held concurrently with the second term tenure of GEL 128. The focus of activities in this area was the stored heat potential of the buried granites surrounding the Olympic Dam mine site. Activity associated with this licence was the development of temperature heat flow probes and testing around the Olympic dam area. Reports on these activities have been previously reported on in reports associated with GEL 128, 129, 161,162, 163, 206 and 213. This licence was effectively surrendered on 28th Sept 2015 after the initial 5 year term.
