The only field work undertaken by Red Metal during its final six years of tenure of EL 3226/4307 Algebuckina was the assaying in 2011 of 88 soil and rock chip samples which it had collected from the vicinity of historically reported surface copper geochemical anomalies located near Mount Kingston and Peake Creek. No significant assay values were returned. Plans were made during 2009 to conduct deep RC/diamond drilling of basement copper targets lying beneath three previous, 1997 drilled RGC/BHP Billiton aircore holes in which elevated copper was encountered within basement amphibolite rocks [the best intercepts made back then were 15 m @ 0.44% Cu (including 3 m @ 1.22% Cu) in hole ALAC002]. A new program of three drill holes was proposed by Red Metal in the area north-west of Mount Kingston North, to test the zone of anomalous copper and associated magnetic targets. One hole would test immediately below the historical highest intercept, while the two other holes would test adjacent magnetic features. However, this work never eventuated, with Red Metal proving unable to secure a suitable drilling rig or a joint venture partner to help fund the program. During this period, successive yearly partial relinquishments of licence acreage were made to compensate DMITRE/DSD for the company's lack of exploration expenditure. Red Metal finally decided to surrender the subject licence, to focus on its other tenement interests.
