CAMPOONA, historic prospecting shaft for graphite on Upper Middleback Jaspilite. Later exploration in the area identified widespread base metal mineralisation in host pelite, and psammite, ie part of the Campoona Syncline Prospect, with anomalous base metal values in host metasediment on both limbs of the Campoona Syncline. 250m to the SE of the old prospecting pit drill hole CEC PHD C4 identified Pb mineralisation with values commonly >2000ppm, maximum 9000ppm (67m @ 2200ppmPb in pyritic, mixed micaceous schist and chert). 2 costeans were excavated near hole C4. Costean A recorded 65m @ 1209ppmPb, costean B 35m @ 1060ppmPb including 10m @ 2140ppmPb in similar lithologies to that encountered in hole C4. Similar style of mineralisation was encountered ~300m along strike at Bills SC1 prospect (mindep # 457)
