The Nuckulla Hill Project tenements are located within the Central Gawler Gold Province, and cover approximately 60 km extent of the Yarlbrinda Shear Zone (YSZ), from a northernmost point that is approximately 36 km south of the Tunkillia gold-silver deposit (10.5 Mt @ 2.2g/t Au). The YSZ is a major crustal shear zone that can be traced regionally for ~ 170 km from Poochera in the south to Tunkillia in the north. It has been postulated by previous explorers (e.g. Equinox Resources NL) that the shear was active during emplacement of Hiltaba Suite granites in the region, and that interactions between this deformation process and granite intrusions provided a source for mineralising fluids via hydrothermal alteration, along with dilational flow pathways leading to structural accommodation zones for mineralisation. Equinox geologists found that ultra-mylonite zones within the YSZ at both the Lakeside and Sheoak prospects exhibit much higher background gold concentrations (up to 50 ppb Au) than adjacent gneiss and granites, and thus they inferred, in view of the size of the YSZ, that a very large volume of gold must be present within it. Following the advertised call made by DSD late in 2014 for companies to submit proposals for participation in PACE Discovery Drilling 2015, Nuckulla Hill Project owner Doray Minerals applied and was successful in securing a partial subsidy grant from the SA Government, via an agreement announced in mid-April 2015 by the SA Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, to assist it with its current exploratory drilling for gold on its project licences, which is focussed on testing the YSZ and related structures. During April-May 2015, in accordance with the agreement arising from its successful PACE funding proposal, Doray Minerals conducted an aircore drilling program on EL 5466, one of its project licences situated immediately south-east of Lake Everard. 94 eastwards-inclined holes totalling 4648 m were completed along 7 east-west aligned drill traverses to test previously defined surface soil/calcrete (minus 175 micron fraction) gold geochemical anomalies of around 15 times background at the Bluebush and Mulga prospects, which appeared to be associated with three wholly concealed north-south fracture structures in the basement, as interpreted from geophysical data. The depth drilled to reach bedrock ranged between 18 and 80 m. The bedrock consists mainly of granitic and mafic intrusive rocks. No significant assay results were returned from analysing 1200 composite 4-metre drill cuttings samples.
