The 2011 diamond drilling campaign aimed to explore for IOCG and other copper mineralisation styles within the region surrounding the Prominent Hill deposit. It was conducted on ELs 4025, 4283, 4429 and 4390 at the following prospects: A2, A2 West, Aphrodite, Armstrong North, Balta Baltana, Cressida, Cressida West, Epsilon, Hallifax Hill, Joes Dam South-East, Jupiter, Larissa Far East, Manxman West, Metis, Mercury South, Nichol Well, Onassis, Perseus, Saturn, Torch, Taurus, Umbriel, Umbriel East, Umbriel West, Wildfire and Wildfire South. OZ Minerals' main focus was on locating the regional domain unconformity east and west of its known location at Prominent Hill, to build confidence in the geological model. Lesser drilling was done in the northern part of the project area to target discrete geophysical anomalies and to improve the knowledge of regional geology in the metamorphic terrain. Many holes were drilled at Epsilon, Cressida West, Joes Dam South East, Umbriel West, Larissa Far East and Hallifax Hill, obtaining promising results with indications of elevated levels of copper in the basement rocks at all of these prospects. Geophysical surveying done at the Saturn, Jupiter and Balta Baltana prospects gave indirect evidence of interesting bodies of sulphide concentration and of graphitic shear zones which might hold potential for economic mineralisation. Ground Probe were contracted to undertake a feasibility study to determine the applicability of a seismic reflection survey at the Mount Woods Project. The study aimed to determine if the proposed survey objectives; (a) better understand the structural setting of the Prominent Hill mineralisation and (b) directly explore for additional mineralisation and controlling structures around the existing mine, could be achieved using the reflection seismic method, and were used to guide the survey design. It involved reviewing geological models and on-site core sample seismic velocity measurements made on 177 samples. Key known subsurface environmental attributes that were taken into account in recommending a possible survey methodology were steep dips, high seismic velocities, a strong seismic velocity contrast at the top of basement, and the presence of hard layers which may be difficult for a seismic source signal to penetrate effectively. It was recommended that a large vibrator source be employed for the survey, in order to map basement reflectors down to a few km depth. The consultants expected that conventional seismic reflection methods using a least a 75-fold receiver configuration should be able to resolve layers with a separation of about 35 m. Exploration activities undertaken on the Mount Woods Project during 2012 comprised: - ongoing target generation and geological interpretation - ongoing geological and structural interpretation of the Mount Woods Inlier - additional drilling totalling 33,312.4 m, that included 28,060.4 m of exploratory mud rotary precollaring/diamond tail coring in 44 holes, 4613 m of exploratory RC drilling in 28 holes, and 639 m of investigative groundwater drilling in 8 holes - development of four groundwater boreholes into producing water wells with lined storage dams on EL 4132, and likewise, one hole plus dam on EL 4025, in preparation for exploration of the project's northern tenements - acquisition of five ground gravity surveys totalling 5048 new stations - acquisition of one magnetotelluric survey totalling 88 stations - acquisition of an IP survey comprising 37.9 line km of inline dipole-dipole and 86.7 line km of offset dipole-dipole readings (excluding data points which overlap onto ML 6228) - acquisition of a 43.3 line km ground EM survey along 5 profiles, and of downhole EM in hole PH12D632 - acquisition of 130.33 line km of seismic survey reflection and wide-angle refraction data - completion of the merger of the new infill gravity data with the existing closed file gravity data - the conduct of geophysical processing and modelling of gravity, magnetic, IP and EM data - continuing petrological examinations of lithotypes encountered within the Mount Woods region - the assaying of drill core samples - the conduct of Work Area Clearance surveys in 10 areas, and - ongoing rehabilitation of drill sites. The 2012 diamond drilling campaign continued the focus on locating the regional domain bounding fault or unconformity east and west of its known location at Prominent Hill, to build confidence in the geological model. It was conducted on tenements EL 4025 and EL 4283 at the Bluebird South, Bulgunnia Fault, Bermuda, Cressida, Kennedy Dam, Larissa East, Larissa Far East, Prominent Hill South, Tahemi, Torch, Umbriel and Umbriel East prospects. During 2012 OZ Minerals also conducted a trial RC drilling campaign to test for evidence of geochemical dispersion indicative of nearby Prominent Hill-style alteration and mineralisation on tenements to the east and west of Prominent Hill. This work was done on ELs 4025 and 4283 at the Bluebird South, Blue Duck, Cressida West, Juliet, Kennedy’s Dam, Umbriel, Umbriel East and Umbriel West prospects, with the majority of holes infilling existing diamond drill coverage, mostly straddling the domain boundary. Discrete targets were also tested as part of the RC campaign. Exploration activities undertaken on the Mount Woods Project during 2013 comprised: - ongoing target generation and geological interpretation; - ongoing geological and structural interpretation of the Mount Woods Inlier; - additional drilling of 8 exploratory mud rotary precollared/diamond tail cored holes totalling 4171.3m. This regional drilling was done on ELs 5210 and 4283 at the Bermuda, Hadron, Larissa East, Medusa, Prominent Hill South and Triton prospects. It targeted gravity anomalies that coincide with favourable structural settings in the Prominent Hill Host Sequence equivalents and low grade sedimentary units. Some significant low grade copper and gold intercepts were made in hole DD13TRI009 at Triton within volcanic rocks; - acquisition by an OZL crew of a ground gravity survey covering the White Hill North prospect on ELs 4283 and 4025, with 1032 stations read over a 200 m x 400 m grid; - reprocessing of moving loop EM (MLEM) data from the Jupiter prospect by a contractor; - continuing petrological examinations of lithotypes encountered within the Mount Woods region; - the assaying of drill core samples; - the conduct of Work Area Clearance surveys in 2 areas; and - ongoing rehabilitation of drill sites. During the first half of 2013, several major reports and presentations were prepared for internal and external audiences. The final interpretation report for the OZ12 Mt Woods Seismic Reflection Project (see: Anderson, Smith and Barratt, 2013) which details the technical aspects of the data acquisition and processing, geological interpretation in terms of seismic reflection geometry and character and the associated exploration implications, was completed in May 2013. A synthesis of these results was also presented at the 2013 Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists International Conference and Exhibition (ASEG 2013). A presentation on the use of passive seismic array methods (OZ Minerals' sponsored Honours project from 2012) for mineral exploration was also given at ASEG 2013. No work was performed on the Mount Woods Project licences during all of 2014 and 2015. Exploration activities undertaken on the Mount Woods Project during 2016 comprised target generation and geological interpretation, acquisition of ground geophysical surveys, and the drilling of 5 rotary mud precollared, diamond tail inclined exploratory holes with a total penetration of 1867.4 m. During July-August 2016, Zonge Geophysics read dipole-dipole IP spreads along two lines totalling 4.5 line km at the Andromeda prospect on EL 5210, to profile a magnetic and gravity high on the margin of the While Hills Intrusion for the purpose of identifying sulphide mineralisation. No IP anomalies of interest were identified by this survey. During July-October 2016, GEM Geophysics acquired moving loop and fixed loop ground EM survey coverage, totalling 70.1 line km, of seven prospects on ELs 5210 and 5439, with the aim of trying to identify potential pyrrhotite rich massive sulphide mineralisation associated with Iron Sulphide Copper Gold (ISCG) mineralised systems. The resulting IP and EM data were interpreted by Andrew Thompson, Minotaur's Chief Geophysicist. The new EM data resolved significant basement conductors at Jupiter and Taurus, while no conductors of interest were identified at the other five prospects. The conductors so revealed were tested by drilling during the period September-November 2016, but no ISCG or other metallic mineralisation of significance was encountered. Subsequently, 19 selected drill core samples of strongly graphite - altered fault breccia material intersected by most of the latest drillholes were submitted to a laboratory for characterisation of their petrophysical properties, to compare the responses seen in the EM surveys with the drillhole truthing. Exploration activities undertaken on the Mount Woods Project in 2017 continued to target iron sulphide copper gold (ISCG) style mineralisation and alteration. Fieldwork was undertaken on EL 5210 and EL 5439, and included: - Target generation and geological interpretation. - Ground geophysics – Ground EM survey for 72-line km, moving- and fixed-loop EM survey conducted over 3 prospect areas (Jindivik, Skylark Shear Zone and Bellatrix East). - Rotary mud/ diamond drilling – 4 inclined holes for 1112 m (DD17EUR002, DD17KND005, DD17TUR017-18) targeting basement conductors identified along the Skylark Shear Zone. - Assaying of drill core. - Petrophysical Analysis – 19 samples from 2016, 2010 and 2009 core. No exploration field or technical work was undertaken on the Mount Woods Project during the 2018 reporting year.
