The subject relinquished portions of EL 5367 form part of a much larger tenement package currently being explored by Perilya, primarily looking for zinc silicate mineralisation similar to the Beltana, Aroona and Reliance deposits, although the central Flinders Ranges region is also regarded as being quite prospective for lead-zinc sulphide and copper mineralisation. No field work was undertaken by Perilya over the latest relinquished portions of EL 5367 and its predecessor tenements. The only work completed by Perilya was a compilation of existing geological data and the purchase of regional Aster multispectral satellite imagery. The portions are underlain by either Proterozoic rocks or surficial Quaternary cover sediments. Only two historic prospects are known to occur with them, Nankabunyana and Saint Ronan East located in the west of the tenement, both of which are barite occurrences. No historic drilling is known to have occurred. The relinquished portions of EL 5367 are considered to hold limited potential for discovering zinc silicate mineralisation. All known deposits and occurrences in the region are hosted within Cambrian carbonate rocks at or near their contact with Proterozoic siliclastic rocks, but no Cambrian carbonate strata are known to occur within the relinquished ground.
