Exploration licence 5821 the “Willochra” is located 50 km north-east of Port Augusta. The tenement has the potential to host large-scale zinc, lead and copper stratiform sedimentary mineralisation (SEDEX deposit). Stratiform zinc (+/- lead and copper), is present in the Lower Cambrian sediments along a strike length of at least 30 km, with zinc mineralisation mapped continuously in at least one horizon along a strike length of 12 km within the project area. During the first licence of EL 5821 to 21st July 2017, Resource Holdings undertook a compilation and review of previous exploration activities within the project area, the “Arden Zinc Project”, along with a review of base metal exploration strategies in the target Cambrian stratigraphy in the Flinders Ranges Region. A systematic desktop and field assessment program was underway to validate SEDEX and high-grade zinc oxide models within the project area. Soil surveys (396 pXRF readings) and rock chip analyses (21 samples for geochemical analysis) were conducted over key prospects as part of a field assessment process with Perilya. Discussions with Perilya and other parties were advanced during the reporting to establish an exploration Joint Venture agreement to fund exploration for base metal deposits within EL 5821. During the second licence year SA Cobalt undertook a reconnaissance rock chip sampling program and commissioned an aerial geophysical survey. A total of 41 rock chip samples were collected and analysed for Au, base metals plus a multi-element suite. Sampling preferentially selected altered and/or mineralised specimens. Reconnaissance field mapping was undertaken along with the rock chip sampling. The geophysical survey saw 8481 line-km of data collected including magnetic, radiometric and a digital elevation model, and was acquired by Thomas Aviation. Interpretation was commissioned from Southern Geoscience [see included report].
