A small area centred ~95 km east-southeast of Coober Pedy has been explored for possible buried Olympic Dam style IOCG mineralisation, epigenetic and stratiform base metal deposits and structurally controlled Tennant Creek style orogenic lode gold that may have formed in Archaean to Mesoproterozoic basement rocks. The basement in the tenement area had not previously been drilled. During the first licence year, existing geophysical data for the area were acquired, reprocessed and interpreted. Two potential IOCG targets were identified which both appeared to have annular zones of demagnetisation surrounding coincident gravity lows and weak to moderate amplitude magnetic highs. Plans were made to conduct ground gravity surveys and soil geochemical sampling. During licence Years 2 through 5, little new work was done. Existing ground gravity data were inspected, and a third target identified which is associated with weak surface copper anomalism. Euler deconvolution techniques applied to the regional gravity dataset, coupled with modelling of gravity gradient strings, were used to define potential mineralising fluid pathways. Ongoing interpretation of available open file geophysical data and other historic data sought to compare them with the published data for Prominent Hill and other haematite-dominated IOCG systems. Efforts were made to find a joint venture partner, which proved fruitless. Eventually a decision was made to allow tenure to lapse at the end of Year 5.
