Exploration Licence 5870 ‘Carpie Puntha’, held by Archer Exploration Limited (Archer) is located on the eastern Eyre Peninsula within the Cleve Domain of the Gawler Craton. The presence of the Middleback Jaspilite provides for a small range of contrasting geochemistry for metal precipitation. The presence of the large quartz capping within the EL provide some encouragement for epithermal gold mineralisation. Trends of graphite mineralisation from the South (Wildhorse Plains) may extend onto EL 5870. EL 5870 with other adjacent tenements had an Application for Amalgamated expenditure under the Central Eyre Peninsula Graphite Project and is in the process of assessment. EL 5870 was added to a previous AEA, the Eyre Peninsula Graphite Project. No exploration was conducted on the ground during the reporting period. Reviews were undertaken of the historical data and pre-existing geophysics. During the second licence year no on ground work was competed. ... In November 2018, in line with the Amalgamated Expenditure Agreement, a significant relinquishment of the tenement was undertaken (from 499 km2 to 103 km2) due to a significant shortfall in expenditure. No work was done on the two now relinquished licence portions. An initial target of possible lithium mineralisation has been abandoned because of a misidentification of outcropping diopside as spodumene, and exploration is now focussed on epithermal gold potential. The area was further reduced in 2021, from 103 km2 to 69 km2. No work was completed on the area.
