A small area considered prospective for pegmatite - hosted lithium mineralisation which could have formed within (?)Cambrian granites was taken up in the vicinity of known Li - anomalous pegmatites in the Umberatana Station area, ~80 km east of Leigh Creek. During licence Year 1, work consisted of making a review of relevant past exploration data, plus the conduct of a field reconnaissance visit and limited rock chip sampling (14 samples collected). The literature review found that the lithium potential of the area had not previously been assessed by explorers. However, the licensee's subsequent pegmatite sampling done at Tourmaline Hill and Giant Head produced disappointing lithium results (maximum laboratory assay value returned was 4 ppm Li), and the decision was made to surrender tenure.
