Reconnaissance and follow-up stream sediment sampling and bank soil sampling carried out across an area of rugged terrain surrounding Wooltana Homestead, within which lie historical small mine workings and minor surface occurrences of secondary copper mineralisation, has revealed widespread low to middle order copper anomalism which is thought to originate in shear-related zones of stratiform mineralisation within conglomeratic units near the base of the Adelaidean sequence. Some quite strong localised anomalies, to 800+ ppm Cu and 1400 ppm Zn, were detected by soil sampling in the vicinity of the Lady Buxton and Blue mine workings. It is intended to conduct detailed geological mapping of the more significant anomalous zones, as a presursor to conducting diamond drill tests of prospective strata.
