An area located in the south and central Willouran Ranges, and centred ~45 km south-west of Marree, has been explored for possible buried economic Neoproterozoic stratiform copper mineralisation and inferred MVT, replacement or diapir-related other base metal occurrences. The subject tenement is a subsequent licence to Daktyloi's earlier EL 4559, which was cancelled by the Minister of Mines due to the company's failure to submit a renewal application within the timeframe required by the Mining Act regulations. During the first year of EL 5428, Daktyloi undertook two field inspections of geochemical anomalies that it had detected in the assay results of previous soil sampling performed along strike-orthogonal traverses spaced 800 m apart. Minor semi-coherent soil copper anomalism had been identified in the south of the licence area along > 2 km of strike length, close to a known diapir. No field work took place during the second through fourth licence years, and no evident conclusions were drawn from the geochemical data which had been acquired. Planned confirmatory infill soil sampling was not performed, nor were any geophysical surveys such as reconnaissance type IP, gravity or VTEM surveys that were mentioned.
