EL 5898 is an area of 155 km2 located in the Roopena area of South Australia approximately 10 km northwest of Whyalla on 1:250,000 Map Sheet: Port Augusta (SH5304) and Whyalla (SH5308). Works within EL 5898 have targeted predominantly IOCG-style mineralisation. EL 5898 is situated in an area of shallow cover intruded by Hiltaba Suite granites generally thought to be metalliferous sources of Gawler Craton IOCG ore deposits. A number of major fault groups (Angle Dam and Wizzo Well Faults) cut the tenement. During the first licence year, exploration activities focussed on the review of historical reports by companies operating within EL 5898 and the compilation and interpretation of existing historical drill hole geological data. The GIS and geological data were extracted into a database and then maps were created within QGIS to aid in the planning of an exploration program going forward. As part of an exploration programme being considered, the company plans to further investigate four reverse circulation percussion drillholes that were planned by previous operators but never tested due to a change in exploration strategy by the company. These four holes were designed to test for IOCG potential within the Hiltaba basement and follow up hematite-sericite alteration assemblages intersected in previous shallow drilling. No field work was completed during the third report year, as such no annual technical report was submitted.
