An area covering most of the Willouran Ranges has been explored for possible economic buried epigenetic or sediment-hosted copper mineralisation that may have formed within the Proterozoic bedrock. Both primary and secondary copper targets were sought. During the first five years of licence tenure, no field work was done - desktop prospectivity studies only were undertaken, including close examination of past Utah Development Corp. exploration reports. During licence Year 6, on renewed EL 6170, 62 grab rock chip samples were collected by First Quantum Minerals Ltd from outcropping stratabound copper mineralised horizons and bedding parallel shear zones during regional mapping traverses, and were submitted for laboratory multi-element analysis. Anomalous copper mineralisation was detected near Tarlton Knob, over ~5 km of strike. A review of the cobalt potential of the Willouran Ranges district was begun, again using the Zambian sedCu/Co model as a guide. Cobalt assay data is limited, but some exists for Renascor's adjacent EL 5586 eastern portion situated to the SSW of Marree, where it correlates well with copper values. Renascor's inspection of open file data from a regional SA Government-sponsored airborne, widely line-spaced (5 km) electromagnetic survey flown over the eastern portion of the tenement area in June 2010 highlighted the ability of this technique to map conductivity variations within the target metasediment sequences, thus suggesting that doing a more detailed survey over interpreted sedimentary copper trap sites, and including those places with poor exposure of the bedrock, should have a high chance of defining sulphide ore development. The conduct of an airborne VTEM survey, plus prospect-scale detailed surface soil and rock chip geochemical sampling, was mooted. During licence Years 7 through 10, no further work was done, before a decision was made to allow tenure to lapse at licence expiry.
