Exploration licence 5899 was granted to Datong Gold Mining Pty Ltd on 12 December 2016. The tenement sits approximately 21 km north of the township of Leigh Creek. The tenement lies in the northern part of the Adelaide Geosyncline and has the potential for economic stratiform copper deposits within the clastic lower inter-glacial sequence of the Umberatana Group, with a number of small copper mines and occurrence already identified in the tenement area. During the first licence year, the work carried out for the year comprises: •Field Reconnaissance – a single field trip was carried out that focused on an area immediately west of previous work – while altered rocks were encountered, little evidence of mineralisation was noted in outcrop. •Rock Chip sampling – Work concentrated on the White Lead area of the license with 7 rock chip samples collected. Confirmed previous work in the area and the presence of Cu with Cu 139763 ppm. Confirmed that the copper lodes are narrow, steeply dipping ore lenses that range in grade from <1% to a high of +10%. First Quantum Minerals expressed an interest in a possible Joint Venture for the tenement area, to that ends they collected 55 rock samples for geochemical analysis, results of which are included in the report. During the second licence year no field work was undertaken during the year. As no new technical data was acquired no technical report was submitted.
