An attenuated licence area centred ~80 km south-west of Port Augusta is being explored for possible buried IOCG-U mineralisation and shear-hosted uranium deposits that may be associated with parts of the Roopena Fault and the Kalinjala Mylonite Zone. Known IOCG style alteration is present at the historic Spencer prospect, and elevated uranium anomalism is apparent in previous explorers' calcrete geochemical sampling data. During the first licence year, a contractor reviewed available open file exploration data and planned further soil and calcrete sampling programmes to augment the existing coverage. During licence Year 2, a semi-detailed ground gravity survey was acquired to try to identify IOCG targets by extending and infilling the existing gravity coverage. A total of 874 stations were read during December 2012 to February 2013 on a 400 m x 400 m grid covering parts of the northernmost and southernmost licence sub-blocks, and interpretation of the resulting data revealed two anomalies situated south of Iron Baron which were deemed worthy of drill testing. During licence Year 3, no field work was done. During licence Year 4, in September 2014, Renascor Resources made FPXRF spectrometric scans of 200 soil geochemical samples located over a few geophysical anomalies, which revealed elevated copper as well as lead, zinc, vanadium and titanium. The samples were collected at 50 m intervals along east-west traverses varying between 200 m and 400 m apart. The upgraded targets include the Nilginee gravity anomaly, where anomalous copper (+50 ppm Cu) was identified over ~ 400 m x 400 m, coinciding with a large (+3 mGal) IOCG-style gravity anomaly. Elevated copper was also detected at the Knights gravity anomaly, located ~ 10 km south of Nilginee along the same fault trend. The soil geochemical anomaly here remained open beyond the sampled 400 m of strike. Exploratory drilling into bedrock was undertaken at these two prospects in November 2014, when 2 inclined RC holes were completed for a total penetration of 258 m. At Nilginee prospect, which is located in the central western portion of the licence area, immediately east of Arrium’s Moola copper-gold prospect on EL 3516, hole 14RIBRC001 penetrated a sequence of metabasalts to amphibolites containing a broad interval of elevated base metal mineralisation. The best intercepts were 56 m @ 468 ppm Zn, 352 ppm Cu, 510 ppm V and 101 ppm Pb from 82 to 138 m downhole, and 18 m @ 787 ppm Zn, 178 ppm Cu, 137 ppm V and 300 ppm Pb from 8 to 26 m. At Knights prospect, hole 14RIBRC002 penetrated a sequence of calc-silicate altered, similar metabasalts to amphibolites that also contain a broad interval of elevated base metal mineralisation. Here the best intercept was 64 m @ 475 ppm Zn, 145 ppm Cu, 196 ppm V and 72 ppm Ce from surface to 64 m downhole, including 8 m @ 0.13% Zn from 16 to 24 m. During licence Year 5, no work was done. During licence Years 6, 7 and 8, no work was done on EL 5822.
