This technical memorandum summarises the main observations gleaned from 17 “vintage” thin sections that had been prepared from percussion sidewall core plugs, from 2 wells, Vivonne-1 and Greenly-1, South Australian Margin. There are a number of ignificant issues with the supplied vintage thin-sections that have made it difficult to collect reliable modal analysis data. Therefore, the modal analysis data that has been collected for the Greenly-1 samples should be treated with caution, as it has been collected only from more intact areas of the sections, which may or may not be representative of the samples as a whole. These sections are followed by the supporting figures, data tables and petrographical descriptions, and the report is completed by the Appendices (petrographical techniques).
