Exploration licence 5783 was granted to Yunnan International Mining Investment Corp Pty Ltd on 17 May 2016. The tenement sits approximately 500 km North of Adelaide and 3 km east of the township of Leigh Creek. The Umberatana Group has been explored for stratiform copper for over 50 years, with significant mineralisation located in steeply dipping sedimentary rocks surrounding diapirs in the area. During licence Year 1, no work was completed. As no new technical data was acquired, a formal report was not submitted. During licence Year2, Yunnan undertook field reconnaissance and rock chip sampling within the tenement. Reconnaissance work focused on 3 previously identified areas thought prospective for mineralisation; 2 areas along the diapir and the third crosscut by several NW-SE structural features. Several rock samples from areas of interest were collected, with samples collected on the diapir contact showing significant alteration with 3 samples submitted for geochemical analysis [spatial data is missing].
