A licence consisting of two separate sub-blocks located ~30 km west-northwest of Iron Knob is being explored for possible economic buried Paris type epithermal/hydrothermal gold and silver mineralisation, as well as for Menninnie Dam type stratiform/replacement base metals, potential IOCG / skarn style mineralisation and primary vein style uranium mineralisation. Within the now relinquished south-western Area A sub-block portion comprising 27% of the former area of the licence, work completed has been confined to reconnaissance surface geochemical sampling, initially on a 1 km x 1 km spacing closing in to 500 m x 500 m grid spacing. A total of 104 soil samples were collected for laboratory partial leach multi-element assaying. The sampling failed to detect Vintage Exploration’s “Scrub Beta” prospect, which was defined by that company's earlier calcrete samples. Vintage Exploration’s aircore drilling of the Scrub Beta prospect resulted in a best gold intersection of 125 ppb Au from the near-surface. It is thought possible that Gawler Resources’ 500 m-spaced partial leach soil samples may have stepped over this anomaly, as it is relatively small.
