An area centred ~45 km south-west of Tarcoola is being explored for possible buried epithermal/hydrothermal copper-gold and magmatic copper-nickel-PGE mineralisation which could have formed within Archaean and Proterozoic basement rocks. During the first and second licence years, no work was done. During the third licence year no on-ground exploration work was undertaken. Vale’s efforts were focused on compiling and acquiring data in preparation for future exploration efforts, which included geology/geophysics historic data compilation, core inspection at the Core Reference Library, and the acquisition of SPOT6/SPOT7 satellite imagery.

Notes: This release to the public of the subject mineral exploration data, namely, company data which was acquired more than 5 years ago, is being done by DMITRE in accord with the provisions of Section 15AL of the South Australia Mining Act 1971, and Regulation 17 of the South Australia Mining Regulations 2020.  Fowler Resources were originally granted the tenements in 2015 and sold the licences to Vale Australia on 21st January 2018. Both licences were transferred from Fowler Resources Pty Ltd to Vale Australia EA Pty Ltd on the 28th March 2018.
