Renewed base metal exploration over a 160 square mile area near Angepena Station in the northern Flinders Ranges, 20 miles east of Copley, involved on-going geochemical exploration of known mineral occurrences, plus regional reconnaisance stream sediment sampling with a far greater sample density than had been acquired previously. Much effort was also directed to checking and re-testing earlier geochemical anomalies, to identify those of substance which were then geologically mapped and surface sampled in detail. Limited diamond drilling (2 holes, total penetration 697 feet) was done to test a locally extensive, abnormally ferruginised, Cu-rich horizon within the Balcanoona Formation near the Eveline mine, but this work failed to encounter economic mineralisation.
