Base metal exploration of buried Cambrian metasediments, undertaken over part of the Bremer River valley located east and south-east of Strathalbyn, has consisted of a review of historical exploration results, limited new geochemical sampling of stored historic drillhole material, and the acquisition and interpretation of a small portion of a multi-licence airborne EM/magnetic survey. The now surrendered licence area formed a peripheral block to Terramin's Fleurieu Project acreage, where lately the primary focus has shifted to vein gold exploration instead of a base metals massive sulphide orebody search. [Note: Terramin has digitised the spatially relevant 1980-1981 CRA Exploration historic coal exploratory drillholes' data for 25 holes as part of its data review process; the digital files of these old data and their metadata have been included herein, as part of DME's approved EL expenditure technical outcome]. During April-May 2010, Terramin acquired a helicopter-borne EM and magnetic (VTEM) survey totalling 3287.9 line km across the eastern 56% of the Fleurieu Project area where there is deeper cover above basement, to try to detect evidence of buried sulphide mineralisation. Coverage was along east-west flight lines spaced 200 m apart, with evolving places of interest later infilled at 100 m line spacing. All of the subject EL 3792 was covered by this detailed VTEM survey. The company's interpretation of the survey data identified the Icon prospect, a broad, 1.5 km long magnetic high anomaly lying adjacent to the Bremer Fault on its western side, with an outline which is discordant to bedding. Later, Terramin's evaluation of previous drillhole data showed that the nearby CRAE hole 80HRM12 had reported an intercept of 26 m @ 160 ppm Cu from the depth interval 56 m to 82 m, within Tertiary limestone strata. During May 2013, Terramin performed portable XRF spectrometric analysis of 13 samples of stored 2-metre depth interval drill cuttings from the historic CRAE 1981 coal exploration hole 81MBR70. No significant pathfinder trace metal assay values were detected within this cover sediment sequence. It was decided to surrender the subject tenement because of chronic difficult relations with landowners, and the generally poor results attending use of electrical survey prospecting methods owing to the saline groundwater in the cover and fractured bedrock.
