A small licence area centred ~2.5 km north of Glendambo township on the Stuart Highway is being explored for possible economic IOCG type mineralisation that may have formed in buried Proterozoic volcanic and plutonic basement rocks which now lie at depths possibly exceeding 700 m. The first licence year was mainly taken up with doing logistical preparations and data reviews. In FMG’s opinion the Jim’s Hill tenement overlies a geological interesting terrain. Unfortunately, the recent impost of the WPA Red Zone legislated conditions upon what has become the extent of the Jim’s Hill granted tenure has significantly reduced its prospectivity, the main reason being the excision of the desired Z-shaped anomaly from the licence area. This anomaly would have constituted the most favourable target for IOCG mineralisation on any of FMG’s newly taken up ground in SA. It is intended to conduct a ground gravity survey to try to generate targets meriting further evaluation.
