An area consisting of two main and three lesser sub-blocks which together are centred ~64 km southwest of William Creek is being explored for possible economic metallic mineralisation that may have formed in buried Proterozoic volcanic and metamorphic basement rocks, some of which are likely to have been significantly metasomatically altered. The first licence year was mainly taken up with doing logistical preparations and data reviews. FMG’s opinion is that the licence area harbours several geophysical anomalies of interest. It was recommended that a further review of the open file geophysical data be completed to enhance the less obvious but promising targets. It was also confirmed that an airborne gravity survey will be completed in the near future to assist in better defining future drill targets. After assessing the local drilling and geological information, it appears likely that any drilling will encounter a significant thickness of Neoproterozoic Stuart Shelf cover, particularly in the eastern part of the licence area.
