An area centred ~55 km east of Port Augusta was taken up to explore for possible economic near-surface cobalt mineralisation, after historic records of geochemical sampling that returned elevated cobalt values were found during searches of SARIG open file data. During the first licence year, a field pXRF scanning check was performed on the principal anomalous area near Muttabee, plus the collection and laboratory assaying of 6 mineralised rock chip samples which confirmed the tenor of cobalt values obtained previously, of up to 0.10% Co, and showed that they are associated with manganese oxide mineralisation developed in weathered bedrock, along with elevated copper and barium. However, no evidence of a hydrothermal or stratabound source to the mineralisation could be discerned. A recorded manganese occurrence near Bellaratta was also inspected and pXRF scanned, but no signs of manganese were seen. During licence Year 2, no work was done. Because it appeared that little scope existed for the discovery of significant mineralisation, it was decided to fully surrender tenure.
