An area centred ~70 km southwest of the Prominent Hill copper-gold mine is being explored for possible economic metallic mineralisation that may have formed in buried Proterozoic volcanic and metamorphic basement rocks, some of which are likely to have been significantly metasomatically altered. The first licence year was mainly taken up with doing logistical preparations and data reviews. FMG’s opinion is that the licence area overlies a geologically varied terrain having good potential to contain mineralisation. However, the company's initial assessment of relevant publically available data did not reveal any interesting geophysical anomalies.
