Reconnaissance geological mapping of an area located at the eastern end of the Musgrave Ranges has identified an extensive, mainly shallowly subcropping meta-igneous basement with some potential for hosting late-stage metallic mineralisation, although no evidence of such could be seen in the surface rock exposures visited. It was recommended to fly a suitably orientated detailed aeromagnetic survey, in order to possibly disclose copper-nickel prospective ultrabasic rocks that could lie buried beneath the locally very extensive alluvial cover.
