A licence composed of four separate small sub-blocks which generally lie ~90 to 120 km north-northeast of Port Lincoln is being explored primarily for extensions to known graphite-bearing horizons which may exist to the north and south of the licensee's longer-held adjoining EL 4430 Verran. During licence Year 1, the JV operator Eyre Peninsula Minerals conducted a review of the logs from previous explorers' many drillholes, selected hole samples were submitted for petrological examination, historic data were compiled about regional graphite occurrences and their geological and structural settings, and the company undertook reprocessing of available geophysical data and performed an interpretation of them. Limited field work was carried out. Historically recorded graphite drillhole intercepts made on EL 4430 at Boothby and Beames Farm were interpreted as being extensions of known graphite deposits associated with the Mount Millar antiformal trend. Further south from Beames Farm, this bedrock trend appears to be offset to the east by an apparent fold/granite intrusive body which is suggested by a broad, sub-circular magnetic anomaly. The graphite occurrence and conductivity anomaly associated with this unusual fold at Siviour near the southern boundary of EL 4430 may represent a further extension of the Mount Millar trend, which means that this structure would then likely continue southwards into the largest, southernmost sub-block of the subject EL 5204. Detailed work already done by Ausmin Development at Siviour has defined a 24 m thick zone of graphitic mineralisation in drillhole CRD0090 that occupies the downhole interval 60.7-84.6 m. Within this zone there is a 16.9 m thick band of continuous graphite mineralisation; contained within it is a high grade lens assaying 12.4 m @ 8.1% TGC (Total Graphitic Carbon). It now appears that this horizon will extend into EL 5204.
