Stream sediment geochemical sampling (704 samples taken over 35 square miles) and regional geological mapping of an area of potential stratiform base metal mineralisation, undertaken within a large Adelaidean anticline located 18 miles north-east of Blinman, identified 16 anomalous drainage sites where minor elevated zinc and lead values exist. However, close prospecting of the outcrops adjacent to these anomalies to disclose their metal sources failed to find mineralisation in economic quantities. The base metal mineral occurrences were all restricted to just small veins and fissures, often associated with small-scale fold faulting, while lesser disseminations were evident in adjacent sediments.
