A very small area located ~10 km west of Murray Bridge has been explored for the following: - possible buried shear zone hosted gold mineralisation which may occur in structures spatially and probably temporally associated with Delamerian deformation and plutonism. Interpreted topographic and geophysical trends suggested to Terramin that major structures passing through the Palmer and Kitticoola gold mining areas would also pass through EL 5252; and - possible buried skarn - related and vein hosted precious and base metals deposits that may have formed in roof pendants and wall rocks associated with late stage Delamerian plutons. This area did not appear to have been previously explored using modern methods. Following the grant of EL 5252, Terramin became aware 18 months later that DEWNR was proposing the creation of a conservation park that would cover its primary exploration target in the Narrinyeri Hills. At a meeting held in July 2015 with officers of both DSD and DEWNR, to discuss mineral prospectivity and conservation value of the proposed conservation park, a DEWNR representative stated that achieving dual proclamation of the park was extremely unlikely. As a result of hearing this, Terramin elected not to undertake exploration of the primary target, and soon relinquished the ground within the proposed conservation park via a licence partial surrender which took effect on 22/5/2016. The limited work which Terramin has undertaken on EL 5252, conducted in October-November 2014, was focussed on another U + Th radiometric anomaly located 4 km south of Palamana. Terramin’s laboratory geochemical analysis of 4 surface soil, float and outcrop samples collected from a railway cutting transecting the site of the anomaly identified highly elevated arsenic, and subsequently, levels of up to 900 ppm As were recorded by a handheld portable XRF spectrometric instrument from 23 in situ spot analyses, but there were no accompanying significantly anomalous gold or base metal values.
